Is my Bible “Holy” or “corrupt”?

In part 1 Discerningwhat is a “Holy Bible” I established that we do not need to have copies of the original texts and be fluent in them in order to be able to discredit any translation of the Holy Bible into English or any other language for that matter. Nor do we need to compare one translation to another of the same language, which is a mistake that many people make. A Bible will discredit itself as being a “Holy Bible” if within that Bible it contains “contradictions”. As God is not the author of confusion, then God’s Word “will not” say one thing in one place of the Bible and then say something profoundly different or even the complete opposite somewhere else within the same Bible, regardless of the language it is written.

A simple test that anyone can do themself is to test both the “Old Testament” and the “New Testament” for irregularities (contradictions). In doing-so you must not have a preconceived opinion of any one translation being more accurate than another. Why? Because the results will speak volumes for themselves. The test may well discredit your favourite translation, however if that proves to be the case, will that not be a Blessing?

The first test is a case of “here in 1 chapter and gone in the next”.

In every translation of the Bible into English that I have read, they all state in Genesis Chapter 1, that God “created” all the vegetation of the Earth on the 3^rd day. And in all of them it was “seen to be done”. The wording varies slightly between translations, however they all mean the same. i.e. “and it was so” or “And that's what happened” or “and that is how it was” or “and it was done” or “And so it was” or “And there it was” or “And it happened” or “And that's exactly what happened” or “And that is what happened” or “And it was so done” or “And it came so to passé” or “and it was done so”.

The problem with most translations arrises when you turn to Genesis Chapter 2 verses 4-6, where many state, “no vegetation existed” before the 6^th day when God Formed man from the dust of the Earth in verse 7.

The second test is a case of “Jesus son of Joseph (mortal) or “Jesus Son of God (immortal).

In every translation of the Bible into English that I have read, they all state in Matthew Chapter 1 verse 20, that a virgin named Mary was with child (pregnant) by the Holy Ghost/Spirit. The wording varies slightly between translations, however they all mean the same.

The problem with most translations arrises when you turn to 2 Timothy Chapter 2 verse 8, where many state that “Jesus is a descendant of David” meaning the mortal Son of Joseph (from David’s seed), rather than “Jesus of the seed of David” (of the same seed). Was Jesus conceived as a natural descendant of David through the seed of Joseph or by an immaculate conception through a miracle of God?

Discerning what is a “Holy Bible”, regardless of the language in which it is written (Part 1).

In this article I will be dealing with Bibles translated from the Original Languages into what has come to be known as the English Language.  I refer to English in that manner, because the language that we have come to know as English is not that dissimilar to modern multicultural society, in that it is made-up primarily from words that have migrated into it from other Languages.  In actual fact, several translations of the Original Manuscripts into what is purported to be English precede the publishing of the First English Dictionary by in some cases several hundred years.  Which raises the “Elephant in the Room” question: How is it possible to accurately translate the Original Manuscripts into words of another language that has yet to be defined?  The first monolingual English Dictionary was Robert Cawdrey’s “Table Alphabeticall” published in 1604, which was little more than a list of synonyms of around 2,500 words. The English language has grown exponentially since then to have exceeded 1,000,000 words by the end of the second millennium AD.

Does that mean that the most recent translations of the Original Manuscripts are more accurate and credible than older translations because translators of today have a richer and more diverse quantity of words to use? My short answer to that question is absolutely not!  Also, should word order (phrasing) be changed or manipulated so-as to reflect changes in our manner of speech?  Again my answer would be absolutely not, if by doing so one changes the mood, tone or context of the original text.  E.g. Shakespeare doesn’t sound like Shakespeare when rewritten and then read in Modern English.  Does it matter which text (MT/TR/CT/LXX, etc.), what method of translation, how many translators or when it was done, have a bearing on whether we can discern if a Bible translation is accurate and therefore Holy and “The Word of God” and not those of another?  Once again, my answer is absolutely not. Finally, do we need to learn the ancient languages of the Original Manuscripts and have access to them to know God’s Truth and “The Word of God”?  It should come as no surprise by now, that my answer is again, ABSOLUTELY NOT!  Most critically, should one have Faith in the integrity of a Bible purportedly being “The Truth” wherein the cited words of the author contradict themselves, thereby making the integrity of the whole book questionable?  You guessed it, ABSOLUTELY NOT!  I think it is now time for me to establish with you all, WHY NOT.

Sorting the wheat (Truth) from the chaff (untrue) when it comes to Bibles requires little more of an education than that required for the winnowing of grain.  I can almost hear the so-called experts and professors of enchant languages choking on their popcorn and mocking me already.  Well mock me if you feel you must and read on if you dare.

The first thing I wish to establish is that when I refer to a Bible, I am referring to a book that contains both the Old and the New Testaments, with no particular relevance to the language it has been translated into or particular number of books contained within it.  As a bare minimum, it would need to contain the 5 books of Moses (often referred to as God’s Law) and also the 4 Gospels named Matthew, Mark, Luke and John (who cite the words spoken by Jesus Christ with narrations for context).  The focus on these books is that the books of Moses give us “the knowledge of good and evil” (Godliness and ungodliness) and through the life and words of Jesus Christ as retold by 4 witnesses “wisdom, understanding, Godliness and Love just to name a few” (The way of Life with a Promise of Salvation).  Please don’t get me wrong here, the other books have their place in the Bible also as there are Conditional Promises of Salvation made by God to His chosen people “The Jews” in the entirety of the Old Testament, whereas the New Testament delivers God’s Conditional Promise of Salvation to anyone whether they be Jews or not.  The books of Moses are written by a Messenger chosen by God to the 12 tribes of Israel and the 4 Gospels detail the Life and doctrines of Jesus Christ the Messenger sent by God to all people of the world.  The integrity of any Bible can be discerned by examining the contents of these 9 books.

Okay…So what are we actually looking for within those particular books of the Bible in order to determine if it is “The Truth” and indeed the “Word of God”?  In a word, consistency.  I.e. A total absence of any contradiction whatsoever.  Without that, it is impossible to have absolute Faith in the validity of that which is contained within it.  The reason I digress quite often is not for the benefit of those born of understanding, but rather for the benefit of those who are not.  To those that are born of understanding, unless your understanding is total and complete, then I suggest you persevere and read-on and the clarity that I am purposed to deliver may become apparent to all.  I think a fair analogy of my point could be given as follows: Many people say the sky is Blue, which is difficult to deny until you look to the sky at night, so the statement is untrue.  Conversely, many people say that the night sky is Black, which is difficult to deny until you look at the sky during the day, so that is untrue also.  If neither statement is true, then we are left with the question WHY (doubt and uncertainty)?  If however we change our point of view from a worldly view to a heavenly view (from outer-space) then we truly see with clarity that the sky is in fact (truth) clear.  Similarly, a Bible read from a worldly view may seem full of contradictions, yet when it is read from the view of God it all becomes clear.  If something is written in the “third-person” it will most certainly not read true unless it is read accordingly.  And if something is written from a certain view-point, it must be read from the same point of view.

Absolute Truth remains true regardless of the passing of time.  I.e. What was True in the beginning is just as true today and will also be true in a thousand years. E.g. “Heaven and Earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away”.  It is written that in the beginning God created Man is His image and in His likeness.  This statement alone has the greatest bearing on determining if a Bible has been translated with integrity or not.  If we are created with the same “Likes” and “dislikes” as our Creator, then those can be used by us in our assessment of the Bible.  Further to that, God states what He expects us not to be or do in the Ten Commandments.  One should also pick-up on another thing I.e. God never tells Man what to do, only what not to do.  What we ultimately do is entirely up to us, however God has foretold of the consequences we shall face if indeed we err.  To those with an ear to hear, God does give directions, however it is up to us whether we act accordingly or not.

So, are we really of the same “likeness” as God?  Let us compare our likes and dislikes with the Ten Commandments of God.  The head of any house expects to be respected by those within it, which is not dissimilar to “I am the Lord thy God, thou shalt have no other gods before me”.  They also loathe being set as inferior to others within their house (disrespected) and competing for the respect that is rightfully theirs (unrequited jealousness), which is not that dissimilar to “for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God”.  They dislike their name being besmirched or cursed, which is not all that dissimilar to “Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain”.  I don’t know of anyone who likes working 7 days a week, so having a day off work every week seems universally acceptable.  The head of a house expect their children to be respectful and honour them, so we should respect and honour the head(s) of the house in which we were raised, which is not that dissimilar to “Honour thy father and thy mother”.  Even killers would not like to be killed, so we shouldn’t kill.  If one can be harmed/punished for committing adultery and a couple who are married are considered one flesh and one cannot commit adultery with oneself, then they should be married.  Even thieves don’t like their goods to be stolen from them, so we shouldn’t steal.  Likewise, liars don’t like to be lied to, so we shouldn’t lie.  Nobody likes anyone having an insatiable desire for what belongs to them, so we shouldn’t covet what belongs to another whether it be spouse or possessions.  I think that establishes the soundness of the Ten Commandments.

The First Begotten Son of God is The First Begotten Son of God.

The NIV® & © along with almost all other Bibles printed during the last 60 years, say that Jesus is the Son of Joseph by mortal decent/lineage from King David in 2 Timothy 2:8, in direct contradiction to "The Immaculate Conception". The TRUE WORD OF GOD does NOT CONTRADICT ITSELF.

Building the Perfect Church.

A little exercise you may wish to try…(or not)?

Stand in front of a mirror (one where you can see above your head), raise your arms over your head placing your palms together with all fingers touching the corresponding fingers of the other hand. Move your palms apart keeping the fingertips touching and roll your thumbs until they are pointing down (but still touching), then roll your index finger-tips (pointing fingers) down toward the tips of your thumbs and you should see a graphical depiction of the "First and Greatest Commandment" appear.

"The eye sees all, but the mind shows us what (it comprehends, identifies or knows) we want/expect to see".

Humm! Too vague and you only saw a heart. Okay maybe we need to take a lesson from my 4-year-old son (you see he is very observant).

We were driving home on Sunday from doing some shopping. Driving up a slight hill approaching a set of traffic lights that had changed to Red. While we where stopped at the lights he said excitedly "I see an Alligator". Being at a loss as to where it was I asked him where it was, to which he replied "Up there in the sky". And then we saw what he saw, a cloud formation that looked remarkably like an Alligator with it's head raised ready to strike. I was so focused on the traffic-lights, that I failed to see "the big picture".

Now I think it's time to go back to the mirror (drawing board)...Most people are so focused on watching their hands and what they were doing that that is all you recognised. We need to consider the entire picture and I give you some clues of what to look for.

Clue #1 Is not the front of the head also referred to as a "Temple" and we should have God sealed in our foreheads?

Clue #2 Do we not keep all that we treasure in a "Treasure Chest" and our Treasure where our Heart is?

Clue #3 Did not Jesus refer to his body as a "Church" that if distroyed would be raised again?

Clue #4 Do we not put a "Steeple" above our church to channel (focus) all our prayers, worship and praise toward heaven?

Clue #5 And finally, atop the Steeple we put "A SPIRE" nee aspire (transmitting our aspirations or Heart’s Desires).

Clue #6 Pretend if you will (in Spirit) that you cup your praying hands around your Heart's Deepest Desires and "don't forget to open it so God can see what is inside". Remember an open Heart is a Loving Heart.

I am not advocating that we must all stand like that when Praying, it is merely a metaphor to help focus our Mind, Body, Heart and Soul toward the Lord.

How to Identify the “Word Of God” and those who are of God.

Dominus illuminatio mea is the motto of the University of Oxford and the opening words of Psalm 27, meaning, “The Lord is my light”. The Word of God is “The Good Oil” [fuel] that keeps our Lamp lit.

Dearly Beloved of God and our Lord Jesus Christ or nay. Let they that hath an ear to hear, hear, read and understand the words that I render unto you this day.

The word “render” means to give and moreover to “Give Freely” (NO STRINGS ATTACHED or RECOMEPENCE [meaning remuneration/payment], for the Lord commanded us “of that which ye freely receive, freely give”).

An Artist “Stakes their Claim for the work” (leaves their Mark thereon).

An Author “Stakes their Claim to the words and sequence thereof” (assigning their name to it); Authorship for Commercial purposes (for money or control of their use) claim Copyright bearing to mark “©” and cannot be duplicated, published or Cited without the express permission of the Owner of the written material.

An Identity (Corporation, Organization or Group) “is everything that identifies it” (Logo/Symbol/Trademark which can be Registered bearing to mark “®” or “™” and can also be granted Copyright bearing to mark “©” to any of it’s intellectual or printed material).

An Identity (Individual) “is everything that identifies it” (DNA, Appearance, Finger-prints, Palm-prints, Toe-Prints, a Given Name/Names, Sir name [sometimes represented by heraldic blazon or banner or crest or house] or even the Number of Hairs on their Head).

An Avatar “is an assumed identity” (an identity taken on by oneself, an alias, “also known as” often abbreviated to “a.k.a.”, a façade, disguise, attempt to conceal one’s True Identity or a deception).

A Creator “Stakes NO CLAIM to anything or anyone of their Creations” (Ownership of their Creation “goes to them without saying, branding or Title Ship”).

A Holy Bible “Is The Word of God” (there are NO Publishing Rights “Domini Public” or “free for all to reiterate [speak] and cite [reference or quote]”, NO Copyrights “©” and NO Registered Logos/Titles/Acronyms “®” or “™”, indeed bears NO HALLMARKS OF BEING WORLDLY [of the world or any person or group]). The Holy Bible gives us assurances totally dependant upon “Quid Pro Quo” meaning “What for What”, Faithful through Faith, Loving through Love, Honourable by Word and Deed, Righteousness for Righteousness, a reciprocal bond of Poetry in motion when all is “Said [Word] and Done [Deed]”. Those that have a “Dim View” of the Scriptures, Prophecies, Gospels and Epistles in Holy Bible, see it as unrighteous because they read it from an unrighteous [worldly] perspective. Those that have an “Enlightened View” of all of the Holy Bible, see the Righteousness therein because they read it from a Righteous [Godly viewpoint] perspective. A picture tells a thousand words, however the picture and words it tells changes when you change your standpoint or point of view. Jesus forewarned all his Disciples prior to passing the sop that the one who betrays the Son of Man shall feel better if he had never been born [go crazy and seek death under their own hand, because of unbearable guilt of betraying the innocent Blood of Christ, his Beloved Friend, Lord and Master]. Jesus was troubled in the Spirit; because he was about to send a Beloved Friend to do something that Jesus knew for certain would cost Judas Iscariot his life. 

That which is sealed in our hands are all that we have written (sealed under the hand of) and that which is sealed in our foreheads are the words that proceed form our mouths (sealed by our tongues). What are our HALLMARKS? Are they of the world or are they of God? By the very words that proceed from us shall we be known (whether by hand or mouth), and by those very words shall we be judged, for each man hath but ONE ACCUSER (himself).

If therefore thou have been given or acquired a Bible? Check the HALLMARKS to see whom the words belong. If it be an Holy Bible (word for word translation) then it contains the Word of God, for the Lord does not “mince His Words” (jumble them). If it be not a (word for word translation) then it has been trampled under the feet of a deceiver (become corrupted and thereby unholy) and will bear the HALLMARKS thereof. Therefore ATRIBUTE that which is God’s to God and that which of the world render (return) it to it’s WRITEFUL OWNER.
